End the Epidemics (ETE) is excited to announce a new Grassroots Fellowship Program! As part of this program we’re committed to building people power across the state to fight for policies that will help to achieve greater health equity by centering the voices and experiences of impacted communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and people who use drugs.
Up to 20 fellows will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive 4-day training by Midwest Academy at the beginning of their fellowship that will cover the fundamentals of community organizing and how to build strategic advocacy campaigns with a racial justice lens. The live, online training will take place from 10am-3pm on September 28-29, and October 11-12. Each fellow will receive a $400 stipend to participate in the training.
Following the 4-day training, fellows will be asked to dedicate up to 5 hours each month from November 2022-June 2023 to participate in the ETE Community Engagement Working Group, attend monthly coalition calls, and help to organize any local actions or outreach. ETE will also provide ongoing training opportunities for fellows related to community organizing, policy advocacy, and communications.
